The multi-use upper court battery with pickleball, basketball and tennis, will be closed the week after Labor Day for warranty repairs and minor improvements.

The outdoor court contractor will be filling cracks and resurfacing the entire court battery under warranty. While this work is underway and the contractor is onsite, improvements will be made to include a divider fence between the two existing pickleball courts and adding 2 more pickleball courts with the basketball court.  We expect the work to take a day with a 3-4 day window to cure the new surface.

Background

The interim GM and WEA have been working with VT Rec, the contractor that rebuilt our outdoor courts from 2021-2023, to provide warranty repair of topcoat surface cracking on the upper multi-use courts. As part of the repairs, we would like to leverage the opportunity to increase capacity and improve usability.
*1 A divider fence is needed to stop balls rolling between courts during play…a hazard which requires play to stop to prevent injuries.
*2 Pickleball has become more popular to where we have taped a temporary court on top of the tennis/basketball court to increase capacity. The tennis net posts will remain so the multi-use court can support all 3 sports, but the tennis lines will not be repainted at this time.  The Association already owns 2 commercial grade portable pickleball nets to accommodate this change.
